Aunty connects more organisations!

Stephen helps Simon from the Council for Voluntary Service to set up a Facebook page for the Barrio Fiesta

Last night Aunty held the second in the series of Connected events which once again proved a hit with our third sector community in Blackpool. We saw some people who had been at the last event come along again to continue to find out what they needed to know about social media as well as some new faces to add to our ever growing digital community here in Blackpool.

One of the things that we really enjoyed about last night was the ratio of surgeons to patients, as it happens it worked out that nearly everyone had a one to one personalised evening which allowed everyone to ask the questions that were important to them. I spent my evening with Blackpool, Fylde & Wyre Credit Union (@bfwcreditunion) talking them through near enough every aspect of Twitter and I’m looking forward to watching the way they use social media developing to meet their needs.

Towards the end of the evening I spoke to Michelle Smith from Blackpool Carers Centre (@BlackpoolCarers) to find out exactly what she found the most useful about the evening. Press play below to find out what she had to say!

We are already in the process of planning the next in the series of Connected events for late August and of course we will be putting information out there as soon as we are able so your organisation can come down and ask the questions you need the answers to!

You can find our surgeons on the blackpsms-surgeons twitter list and the organisations who have come along on the blackpsms-orgs list. Check them out!
