Dirty Great Textile Exhibition: Entry details

6 – 13 December 2018

ICW, 22 Church St, Blackpool, FY1 1EW

What?
This winter Knittaz With Attitude will host an exhibition of contemporary textiles.

We’re looking for bold contemporary pieces to challenge and excite our Blackpool audience. Think bold, modern and experimental!

Artists can submit one or two works in any textile or fibre medium e.g. sewing, weaving, knitting, quilting, embroidery, lacemaking, collage etc.

Artists are invited to submit recent work (produced within the last 2 years) that has not been included in previous Blackpool-based exhibitions.

Who can enter?
The exhibition is open to all ages and textile disciplines provided that you have an FY postcode and/or are a member of Knittaz With Attitude.

Artists from all backgrounds and all levels of experience including professional are invited to submit one or two of their most recent works to go on display.

Children are more than welcome to take part.

How much does it cost?
If selected, there is a £10.00 installation/admin fee per submission – this will go towards the venue costs.

How do I enter?
Please complete the online form by noon Friday 2 November, we will let you know whether you have been selected by Friday 9 November.

Selection criteria: We want you to be as bold and adventurous as you dare. We’re really keen to see work that is:

  • Unusual and experimental, e.g. makes use of technology.
  • Abstract and avant garde, weird and conceptual is very welcome.
  • Pieces that you would have difficult exhibiting elsewhere

Selection will be made by a group of Knittaz With Attitude members: A variety of Blackpool-based textile lovers who want to bring something different to our town and believe that we have some amazing amateur and professional artists working locally.
