We’ve had a great response to our yarnbombing workshops and we’re nearly ready to go with the trail.
Special mentions go out to the staff and students of Blackpool Sixth Form College who help a super knit-in on 19 July. As well as out hardcore knittaz from our group and pom-pom makers extraordinaire Tyler and Charlie. Thanks Guys!
Watch this space as knitted creatures will start to appear around Blackpool. There will be an accompanying web map that will help you to spot them all.

Knittaz with Attitude was out in force this weekend at Blackpool’s own annual urban art festival Sand, Sea and Spray. It’s organised by the lovely Robin Ross and brings lots of talented artists into Blackpool to brighten up the town and share their creations with local people.
We decided to support the festival as only we know how, with a shed-load of wool! We decided to focus on St John’s Precinct and Cedar Square and had a stash of lovely knitting, crochet and pom-poms to display.
Yarnbombing highlights were our woolly bike, which attracted a ridiculous amount of attention and the pom-poms (pombombing!) and crocheted birds in the trees. Passers-by gave us so many compliments and took so many photos that we feel famous!
I’ll stop waffling now and get to the good bit, the photos…
Ooh, we need to give a massive thank you to Foundry who shinned up a macca ladder to help us pombomb. You sir, are a legend *doffscap*
Whassup ma Knittaz?
Just a reminder that there will be no Knittaz with Attitude session on Monday 4th June as it’s a Bank Holiday and many people will be off on their holibobs or hanging out with their families.
Hope you have a good time ‘bigging up’ her Maj!

On Saturday 10th March, Aunty hosted a yarnbombing workshop for young women (age 13-16 years) from a variety of youth groups from Wyre. Activities included dance and various arts and crafts activities and took place at Fleetwood YMCA …Young (wo)man, there’s no need to feel down, la la la.
Participants learned how to get crafty and stitch together a variety of woolly loveliness to create a flower garden outside the entrance to Tommy’s the local youth club. All in all, it was a lovely day, we had some great positive feedback from the groups and created a woolly wilderness to boot, fabulous!
