What?
This winter Knittaz With Attitude will host an exhibition of contemporary textiles.
We’re looking for bold contemporary pieces to challenge and excite our Blackpool audience. Think bold, modern and experimental!
Artists can submit one or two works in any textile or fibre medium e.g. sewing, weaving, knitting, quilting, embroidery, lacemaking, collage etc.
Artists are invited to submit recent work (produced within the last 2 years) that has not been included in previous Blackpool-based exhibitions.
Who can enter?
The exhibition is open to all ages and textile disciplines provided that you have an FY postcode and/or are a member of Knittaz With Attitude.
Artists from all backgrounds and all levels of experience including professional are invited to submit one or two of their most recent works to go on display.
Children are more than welcome to take part.
How much does it cost?
If selected, there is a £10.00 installation/admin fee per submission – this will go towards the venue costs.
How do I enter?
Please complete the online form by noon Sunday 4 November, we will let you know whether you have been selected by Friday 9 November.
Selection criteria: We want you to be as bold and adventurous as you dare. We’re really keen to see work that is:
- Unusual and experimental, e.g. makes use of technology.
- Abstract and avant garde, weird and conceptual is very welcome.
- Pieces that you would have difficult exhibiting elsewhere
Selection will be made by a group of Knittaz With Attitude members: A variety of Blackpool-based textile lovers who want to bring something different to our town and believe that we have some amazing amateur and professional artists working locally.
How do I present my work?
All work that requires hanging must have mirror plates attached at the side to secure it to the wall and be framed. We do not accept ‘clip frames’ or any work deemed unsafe or unprepared for display. Mirror plates are available at most hardware shops.
All work should be labelled on the back with:
- Your name
- Your Email address
- Your postal address
- Your telephone number
- If the work is for sale – the price.
Please remember to include 30% gallery commission in the price.
What happens if my work is sold?
You will be notified if a work is sold.
Payment will be made by Aunty Social CIC after the close of the exhibition.
We can only sell your work if you provide us with a Unique Tax Reference Number (UTR)
Is my work insured?
Work cannot be insured by Aunty Social and is at all times at the owner’s risk.

We cannot store work after Friday 14 December. Any work not collected by this date will be auctioned for charity.
