To see the full list of crafts please vis it our website\n\n \;\n\nThis month's session focuses on Block Printin g\n\nStatus: Endangered\n\nWell we enjoyed making the pigments last month\ , let’s turn them into art prints.\n\nBlock Printing traditionally invol ves printing by hand onto textiles or paper. An artist would carve their o wn wooden blocks\, building up a design by laying down different colours a nd patterns to bring to life either a story or a pattern.\n\nHistorically this art form has been used to create scriptures\, when hand copying would have been impossible to meet demand. Used  locally and more recently to create bespoke patterns for use in the fashion industry for cotton summer dresses and totes.\n\nWe are going to look at historical examples of block s\, create our own design and blocks using a modern alternative to wood.Th en we will print our patterns onto fabric.\n\nDon’t worry if you did not attend the pigment class\, we will provide modern inks to bring your crea tions to life.\n\nPlease wear something appropriate for this colourful cla ss as you will be getting hands on with your printing blocks.\n\n\n\nClick here to book\n\n\n\n \;\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nACCESS &\; VENUE\nAcc ess: If you have additional access needs (e.g. large print\, BSL interpret er\, level access) Please let us know by emailing or sending us an SMS tex t/WhatsApp message on 07957 602790‬\n\nThese sessions are in our upstair s workshop space.
