Each month we will take on a different project\, in a friendly and wel coming environment.\n\nIn this session we’ll be making human figures tha t express joy and positive energy. Artist and session leader Mike will ask you to think about how your figure might communicate the idea of freedom. \n\nYou’ll spend the first hour modelling your figure in clay\, perhaps using an armature to keep it upright. You’ll then spend the second hour adding colour and pattern to your figure using underglaze paints.\n\nWe’ ll look at the work of the French artist Nikki De Saint Phalle and drawi ng inspiration from her ‘Nana’ sculptures\, which are widely recognise d as symbols of joy\, liberation and empowerment.\n\n \;\n\nWhat's inc luded?\n\n All equipment and materials\n Light refreshments\n\n \;\n \nThings to note\n\n Please wear clothes that you dont mind getting messy in\n If you would like more information about the space\, please head to the website\n Each session is made up of a new group of participants\, rather than a fixed group\n\n\nClick Here To Book\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nM ike Cassidy\n\nI studied at Chelsea Art College\, graduating in 2007 with a first class degree in Fine Art (Painting). I’ve been making and teac hing art ever since. My teaching has brought me into contact with lots of different processes and materials\, which have often diffused into my art practice - most notably ceramics\, which I’ve been practicing now for ov er 10 years. I’m interested in how memory\, pathos and narrative can be contained in artworks.
