Each month we will take on a different project\, in a friendly and welcoming en vironment.\nIn this session we’ll make abstract paintings based on the w ork of the American artist\, Frank Stella. We’ll create pattern\, explor e mark-making and colour\, and incorporate recycled materials to make a 3D painting that jumps off the wall! You’ll have the chance to try out lot s of different materials and experiment in putting them together in intere sting and unusual ways. We’ll juxtapose areas of neat and careful line w ork with wild mark-making to create a painting that is visually exciting a nd interesting.\n\n \;\n\nWhat's included?\n\n All equipment and mate rials\n Light refreshments\n\nThings to note\n\n Please wear clothes tha t you dont mind getting messy in\n If you would like more information abo ut the space\, please head to the website\n Each session is made up of a new group of participants\, rather than a fixed group\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMike C assidy\n\nI studied at Chelsea Art College\, graduating in 2007 with a fir st class degree in Fine Art (Painting). I’ve been making and teaching art ever since. My teaching has brought me into contact with lots of diffe rent processes and materials\, which have often diffused into my art pract ice - most notably ceramics\, which I’ve been practicing now for over 10 years. I’m interested in how memory\, pathos and narrative can be conta ined in artworks.
