DESCRIPTION:In 1997 the photographers Stephen McCoy and Stephanie Wynne for
 med the partnership McCoy Wynne and they continue to work collaborativel
 y\, and separately\, on commissions and personal projects. Generally commi
 ssioned work and self-initiated projects are undertaken with pooled concep
 ts\, reactions and image making. They find the interaction of the two to b
 e mutually beneficial.\n\nOne of their more recent major collaborative pro
 jects ‘Are You Living Comfortably?’ is held in the University of Sa
 lford Art Collection and they continue to work on another long- term perso
 nal project: “Triangulation” shown in several venues as the work pro
 gresses\, including The Northern Eye Festival and The Victoria Gallery and
  Museum\, Liverpool.\n\nThey will talk about both of these projects and di
 scuss working collaboratively both on personal projects and commissions fo
 r over twenty-five years.\n\nStephanie Wynne\n\nStephanie’s personal wor
 k is concerned with aspects of the landscape and the built environment\; w
 orking with and photographing communities who are often tackling environme
 ntal change. In 2023 she undertook an artists’ research residency with O
 pen Eye Gallery Liverpool culminating in a solo project ‘The Erosion’
  shown as part of the Liverpool Look Climate Lab exhibition Jan to Apr 20
 24 and ‘Beyond Sight’ exhibition June to September 2024\n\nFrom 2017
  to the present Stephanie has been commissioned by the Open Eye Gallery\, 
 Liverpool\, and others to undertake Socially Engaged Practice photography 
 projects. Expanding her practise\, drawing on skills and expertise\, to wo
 rk in partnership with women’s groups in Wirral and young people in Seft
 on. In 2024 she collaborated with communities across the UK to create the 
 exhibition ‘Grounded’ for the GroundsWell Consortium\, a national pu
 blic health research group based in the Universities of Edinburgh\, Liverp
 ool and Queens\, Belfast.\n\nShe is currently a visiting lecture to the BA
 (Hons) Photography courses at University of Chester and UCEN Manchester.\n
 \nStephen McCoy\n\nStephen McCoy has had a long and varied career in photo
 graphy being employed as a lecturer\, free-lance photographer and working 
 on long-term self-initiated projects.\n\nHis personal work is deeply roote
 d in the documentary tradition of photography although “concept” is h
 ighly important in the initiation of any project.\n\nHe is interested in t
 he broad area of urban and natural landscape and the effects that people h
 ave upon their environment. In his early career he was influenced by the A
 merican New-Topographic movement and the photographers involved in the 197
 5 seminal exhibition.\n\nStephen McCoy’s work has been exhibited and pub
 lished widely. Notably in 2019 a selection of his work was included in the
  exhibition “Home Sweet Home” shown at Recontres d’Arles and Insti
 tut pour la Photographie\, Lille\, curated by Isa Bonnet and in the book o
 f the same name published by Textuel. Many of his projects have also bee
 n published by Café Royal books.\n\nA major solo exhibition\, entitled 
 “Proximity” was shown at the Open Eye Gallery\, Liverpool\, from Nove
 mber 2024 until January 2025. “Proximity” will also be shown at The Ma
 rtin Parr Foundation\, Bristol\, from October 2nd 2025 until 21st December
  2025.\n\nHe continues to work on long-term projects.\n\nSteve and Stephan
