Job Vacancy: Seasonal Sales Assistant
Aunty Social is looking to recruit an enthusiastic Sales Assistant to join our small team over the Christmas period.
We’re offering a role that will allow you to use your own initiative, interact with art lovers and promote local talent in a fun and creative environment. You’ll carry out retail and customer service activities through December 2024, selling high quality, design led products and artworks.
You’ll be welcoming a variety of people into our venue and will most likely be the first person that our visitors, customers and volunteers will meet when they arrive. Aunty Social is looking for a Festival Development Coordinator to support the work of Blackpool Film Festival.
This role is an entry-level position for a Fylde Coast-based aspiring film exhibition professional.
You’ll carry out a variety of programme, audience development and film exhibition activities from May 2024, supporting Blackpool Film Festival as it transitions from the Winter Gardens Film Festival.

This role is primarily based at our Blackpool town centre venue at 28 Topping St, Blackpool, FY1 3AQ.

Aunty Social is seeking staff to support their upcoming BFI-supported Film Club.
This summer, we’re bringing back our film club that will support 15 budding filmmakers aged 12-15 yrs. They’ll learn how films are made and try out lots of different skills including scriptwriting, model-making, filming on location, cinematography and video editing. Their final film will be shown at a big showcase event for friends and family.

Open Call: Proposals for funded Workshop Sessions – 27 August 2022
The brief: We’re offering 3 x opportunities for local creatives. We would like to hear from artists who can run bookable or drop-in activities for families at Blackpool Winter Gardens in August 2022
- Theme: High Street Heritage/our town.
- You will ideally have experience of working with the public on community art projects, especially families and children aged (approx.) from toddlers to 12 years. (You don’t need to be DBS checked – as parents/chaperones and staff will be present during the activities.)
- You will need to attend from 10am to 3pm plus set up/packing away time.
- The activity should last approx 1 hour with 1 session starting in the morning and a second in the early afternoon
- You should consider how the sessions can be delivered safely in a post-Covid environment.We can provide trestle tables/chairs/sanitiser, as required.
- Activity can take place outside the venue (e.g. outdoor photography) but must start/finish at the venue.
The fee is £260 for each opportunity.
This will include planning and preparation, and delivery of the activity on 27 August 2022. We pay artists based on rates advised by the Artists’ Union England and Arts Council England.
