Join Comma Press for an immersive in-person short story course at Aunty Social in Blackpool with tutor Antonia Charlesworth Stack. Explore the intriguing history of Blackpool and learn how to craft captivating stories using historical archives.
Course Description: Develop your writing craft this Autumn with Antonia Charlesworth Stack’s short story course. Learn how to analyse stories and historical materials and create captivating stories based on the rich history of Blackpool. Starting from a blank page, you will develop complete and polished stories that bring the past to life. Your final stories will be published in a Comma Press ebook. Throughout the course, Antonia will provide expert editorial advice and offer imaginative prompts to overcome writer’s block.
We will examine historical archives and explore the fascinating history of Blackpool to inspire our storytelling. The workshops will consist of fun and engaging writing exercises, in-class discussions, assigned readings, and opportunities to share your writing as it develops.

Course Accessibility: Our courses aim to be accessible to everyone. They are conducted throughout the UK and run regularly. No previous experience is required; all you need is enthusiasm for short story writing. To participate, bring a pen, paper, laptop/computer.
