Anthotype Workshop
Join us on Thursday 15th of August at 2pm for a relaxed workshop discovering the art of the Anthotype at Blackpool Community Darkroom in Aunty Social.
Developed from the 1810s onwards, this slow form of photography uses the light sensitive juices of plants to produce images.
During the workshop we will:
• Explore the history of the process
• Make our own light sensitive material
• Produce photographic paper
• Make a paper negative from a digital image
• Set up an image ready for exposure

You will leave the workshop with an image ready to expose at home, extra paper to play with in your own time and the knowledge of how to complete the process yourself from scratch.
The cost of the workshop including materials is just £6.50. Booking is essential for this workshop. Please email [email protected]. On booking you will be asked to supply an image for use in the workshop.
ACCESS & VENUE
Please note that this session is upstairs. We are in the process of installing a lift, however due to unforeseen delays this is now due to be completed later in the year. The event space is up a single flight of 14 steps then you go around the corner and there are two small steps. Once you’re upstairs there’s a loo. You shouldn’t need to come downstairs for anything until the end of the activity.

Getting here
- Tram to North Pier.
- Bus: No 3,4, 6 or 18 bus to Topping St. No 2, 2C, 12 to Church St (Stanley Buildings)
- Driving: The closest pay and display car parks are on East Topping St and Talbot Road multi storey. There is also parking at the nearby Sainsbury’s supermarket, please make sure that you check the terms before you use the car park.
