Louise ‘Blu’ Ashcroft

Blu is one of the founding Directors of Aunty Social.

She is Blackpool born and bred and has spent the past 20 years providing Careers Advice and Guidance and support to the young people of the Fylde Coast via Connexions, National Citizenship Service, the Magic Club Youth Club and Blackpool and Fylde College. She supports the delivery of projects involving young people at Aunty Social.

Blu is a strong advocate for social mobility and supporting people to achieve their full potential. She is passionate about the development of transferable employability skills and equipping people to deal with the challenges of the local seasonal employability landscape. 

In her free time Blu enjoys attending our textile group, Knittaz with Attitude and she is very proud of the giant yarnbombed space invader we installed in Stanley Park, as well as the cross stitch pieces she made for the We’re Sew Done exhibition, which highlighted the issues of street harassment in Blackpool. She is also a keen reader and board gamer and is also a regular attender of our book club, The Social Lit and gaming club, Nerdvana.
