Kelsey Draper

Festival Development Coordinator

Kelsey joined Aunty Social as the Festival Development Coordinator for Blackpool Film Festival, and has also worked on the most recent BFI Film Academy.

A Film Studies graduate of Liverpool John Moores University, Kelsey has a keen interest in film exhibition, curation and audiences, and is eager to help with the development of Blackpool’s growing film community.

Kelsey has volunteered for various film festivals in the past, working as a submissions previewer and programmer, and was also one of Storyhouse Chester’s 2024 Young Programmers.

Her proudest achievement is receiving a message from director Sean Baker (Anora,Tangerine) about her video essay on his film, The Florida Project.

Kelsey is a long-term vegan and, in 2023, combined her love of animals with her passion for travelling by volunteering at an animal sanctuary in rural Slovakia.

Kelsey also enjoys reading, film photography, sea swimming and (of course) watching films. She loves Ru Paul’s Drag Race and The Muppets, and her dream is to see Miss Piggy as a guest judge one day
