Solidarity Postcard Printing & Collage
Join Aunty Social, Grumpy Girl Graphics and the Ella Baker School of Organising on Sunday for a day of Solidarity Postcard Printing, where we’ll create postcards inspired by past and present movements for justice and liberation.
This free, drop-in workshop explores how printmaking and collage can act as an accessible way to create collaboratively, inspired by the history of print culture in building a ‘shared story of us’ within communities. We’ll look at how we can use image and language to show our solidarity across struggles and call for action.
We’ll reflect on:
- The causes of unrest and the ongoing effects of the violence
- Bias within media narratives – reality and deception in news stories
- The hostile environment – how people seeking refuge and safety in this country have become villainised
- How we can rebuild communities to become places of welcome and unity
We’ll help you design, print and collage your own postcard using a range of printing stamps and markers.
Some of the postcards will be photographed and included in the materials for our upcoming Defeating Narratives of Division training workshops.

Defeating Narratives of Division training August – December 2025
Many good people, exasperated at the growth in narratives of division feel frozen and unable to act as they are unsure how to make a positive impact. This new series of informal online and in-person training workshops will equip people active at a grassroots level to effectively act to reduce tension, build unity and address resentments.
