Yesterday Everyday: Mini Museum of Retro Tech
It’s time to rewind to the past!
For Heritage Open Days 2026, we’ve sifted through our stores to share a selection of our favourite analogue and retro technology that was once part of everyday life.
From film projectors and vintage cameras to floppy disks, old phones and Walkmans, the display is a showcase for the gadgets which once seemed so indispensable but are now considered obsolete.
You’ll be able to touch, hold and explore a number of the items on display; type a memo, watch a film on early formats, play a retro video game or even record your voice on tape.
It’s a great way to reminisce or share your tech memories with younger folks who haven’t experienced the joy of winding a cassette tape with a pencil!
So head on over to Aunty Social as we open up a time capsule full of nostalgia for anyone who grew up in the analogue age and a treasure trove of fascinating oddities and relics for those who are more digitally inclined.
