Drawing from the sea – seaside cyanotypes

Join artist Lavinia HasLam and create your own sea-inspired cyanotype.
In this mindful session combining art and wellness, take a walk along the sea shore and engage with the soothing sound of the ocean. Collect small objects and materials that you feel drawn to, and engage with their texture, pattern, and how this makes you feel.
Back in the workshop space, you will receive a practical demonstration on how to make a cyanotype or sun print. You will then have an opportunity to make your own and develop it in the sunlight.
At the end of the session, we will have a chance to reflect as a group. You will also be able to take away the unique images that you created.
- Drinks and snacks will be provided. You will need to bring lunch with you.
- This session is suitable for adults and young people over 12yrs. All young people under 16yrs must be accompanied by an adult (see FAQ section for ticket details).
Safety notice
Sadly our beaches are not at their cleanest at the moment. We’ll therefore provide gloves, sanitiser and disinfectant for handling the objects that you collect.
