Aunty Social Zine Callout 2026

We’re looking for zines for our Blackpool town centre shop

Hello artists, makers and writers!
At Aunty Social, we’re offering you the opportunity to sell your zine on the high street at a reasonable rate of commission.
 
As a not-for-profit organisation, the money we make from the shop is re-invested into providing affordable and accessible arts and cultural activities for people in Blackpool.
If you would like us to stock your zine in the shop, please complete this short form.

What we're looking for...

Ideally zines will have a Blackpool, Lancashire or North West connection, this could mean that they are locally made or inspired by the local area; but we are open to zines from further afield.

We love anything quirky or individual; things that you would not find in your average high street store.
To give you an idea of what works well in our shop, here are a few themes:

  • Environment & Nature
  • Feminism
  • Folklore
  • Heritage
  • LGBTQIA+
  • Mental Health
  • Music
  • Neurodiversity
  • Poetry
  • Photography
  • Social Justice
  • Visual Art & Crafts

Do remember that we’re not limiting you to these themes, we’re very happy to consider a variety of topics. All that we ask is that your zine is:

  • Your own work/you have permission of those involved in the making of the zine.
  • The zine fits in with Aunty Social’s Values
  • The zine does not contain work created or written by generative AI.

How do I apply?

Please use our online form to submit your products. 

    • We will review submissions on a monthly basis and contact you with a decision within 4 weeks.
    • If you have been successful, we will then confirm the order and discuss a delivery date.

FAQs

We will do our best to display your products professionally, however, we do encourage you to think about appropriate ways to display your items at their best. We will consider using any relevant display stands/materials you wish to provide.

Yes, you can submit one product or a range of products.  We will consider all submissions and decide which products are best for the shop.  If you are submitting a range, we may only select some of your products.

On the form, we will ask you how many products you can supply. We ask for zines to be supplied in multiples of 3.

We will charge a commission rate of 30% of an item’s retail price. Please take this into account when calculating your retail price(s).

We accept applications at any time, and will respond to you with a decision within 4 weeks.

However, we may not call upon your products until our next stock rotation or until a more suitable time of year.

We will only stock good quality products that are suitable for sale and conform to relevant health and safety standards.

  • Items must be well-finished and fit for purpose, retaining their quality after repeated display, use or cleaning.
  • Please make sure that you consider any risks and include care instructions/labels wherever necessary.
