Art After Dark with Dave Haslam

Arts & Culture magazine Blackpool Social Club is proud to welcome Dave Haslam to our town for an evening of conversation, culture, art and nightlife and the launch of his new book.
A late-night venue can be chaos, magical, a town’s greatest asset, a life-changing buzz, a cultural catalyst.
At this unique event to mark the publication of ‘Adventure Everywhere’, Hacienda DJ Dave Haslam’s short format book about Pablo Picasso’s Paris nightlife, Dave will be joined by guest interviewer Beth Barker (Up North Podcast) to discuss big nights out; Picasso, Haring, and the Hacienda; and the links between art and life after dark.
Dave Haslam is a DJ, journalist and the author of several full-length and short format books. His DJ-ing has taken him to the likes of Berlin, Lima, New York, and Paris. His memoir ‘Sonic Youth Slept on My Floor’ (2018) was proclaimed Book of the Year by Gilles Peterson. His current project is a series of short format books; subjects have included Sylvia Plath, Keith Haring, and the Angry Brigade. ‘Adventure Everywhere‘ is the seventh book in the series.
There will be an interview, Q+A and the chance to have your book signed.
