David Wilson – What Can I Do When I Can’t Do That!?
“I never went to film school; I just learned how to draw. From here, I became a music video director. I’ll take you on a journey through my career from homemade hand-drawn animation to creating psychedelic music videos and TV commercials. How I learned that it’s par-for-the-course to have (often huge) gaps in knowledge in the industry, and how I believe ‘figuring it out’ is the most commonly used key to success.” – David Wilson
Join us at Aunty Social for an unforgettable evening with David Wilson, a queer director specialising in work that is often radical, subversive, and goes against the grain.
David’s career spans over 15 years of working in advertising and music video, creating work for artists such as Arctic Monkeys, Arcade Fire, Tame Impala, Lady Gaga, David Guetta, Sia, Christine and the Queens, Glass Animals, and Metronomy, to name just a few.

Presented by Queer Amusements as part of Blackpool Film Festival. Queer Amusements commissioned by Marlborough Productions as part of their New Queer on The Block programme, Aunty Social and supported using public funding by Arts Council England.
