Join our resident Heritage Crafts expert for this selection of fun and engaging workshops, for 8-11 year olds.
Come and join Heather as she brings to life crafts from the Northwest’s Heritage. Demonstrating the slowly vanishing skills that went into producing our clothing using natural materials, in these sessions, tailored to young people.
Please note, parent/carer supervision is required at all times at these sessions.
5. Wool Time: Drop spindle & Nålbinding
Thu 15 August, 10am-12pm
Long ago the Fylde coast was known for its sheep and prized wool. Local abbeys grazed their flocks and traded with the Baltics the wool. Let me show you how to use a drop spindle to create wool thread. I will also introduce you to Nålbinding and how to make handwarmers (fingerless mittens) as a take home project.
